Let it wilt, then submerge in sauce. Basil is a fragrant herb that is made for marinara. Instead of waiting to garnish your pasta with it, use it while the sauce is simmering. It'll infuse a ton of fresh flavor.

Instructions to make Marinara Sauce:
  1. Heat up the pan add olive oil then add the chopped garlic cloves and saute well until the rawness goes away. Then add the chopped onions and mix well. Cook until gets translucent then add salt and mix again. Cook for 2 minutes then add the tomatoes and mix very well. Cover it and cook it on medium flame until get soft.
  2. Once the tomatoes become soft press it with the spatula to mash it. Then add the cumin powder and black pepper powder along with red chilli flakes. Mix those all very well and cook it till the tomatoes become completely soft then add the Italian herbs and give it a good mix. Now cover it again and cook it on medium flame to dry out and get softer. Then open the lid and with a masher mash those well. Then cook it again on a medium flame for 5 minutes and off the flame.
  3. Once completely cool down then store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 8-10 days. They can be used in pasta, chicken, meatballs and many more dishes. Taste it once done to adjust the flavours if the tomatoes are sour you can add a tsp of honey or sugar to balance the tartness. For the silky texture grind it once completely cools down and is totally optional. You can even add cream also at the time of grinding. Make it and enjoy. Happy Cooking 😊
