  1. In a large pot add heat olive oil then add onions and garlic and cook for 5 minutes or until onions are translucent.
  2. Lower heat and add the remainder of ingredients (except for salt pepper and sugar).
  3. Cover and simmer for approximately 1 hour until sauce thickens to your liking. stir occasionally.
  4. Remove from heat and add salt, pepper and sugar. Combine well and serve or let cool for refrigeration.
