- In the large portion, add red colour. Roll it into 5 mm thickness and cut hearts using a cookie cutter.
- Stack all the hearts(one on the other) with little water in between. Freeze it for 30 minutes.
- Remove from the freezer and cover it with a white dough. Roll the heart log to obtain a smooth surface. Put it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.
- Slice the heart log to 5 mm thickness.
- Take old kadhai, take about 1/2 kg salt in it. Place metal ring of at least 1” height in the center and put metal plate above it. Cover it and preheat on a high flame for about 15 minutes.
- Once preheated, transfer cookie balls on the steel plate greased with oil.
- Cook on a low flame until edges turn slightly golden(for about 20 minutes).
- Immediately, Transfer them to other tray so that it doesn’t over cook(burn from the bottom).
Add egg, vanilla, and almond extract, if using, and beat well. Beat at medium speed until smooth, adding additional water if necessary, to reach. Beat butter and granulated sugar with a mixer on medium-high speed until pale and fluffy. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl and mix the dry ingredients thoroughly into butter mixture. Combine dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture and mix well.
